Ever since Thomas Edison invented
the incandescent light bulb in 1879, fine quality lighting, with
its tranquil soft glow, have become among the most celebrated
Arts and Crafts objects. Louis Tiffany, Gustav Stickley and others
design lamps, lanterns, and chandeliers to illuminate every room
with flare and imagination. Today's lamp designs by Stickley are
made of solid oak and cherry, enhanced by leaded glass, mica or
linen shades. The leaded glass is made in the same manner made
popular by Louis Tiffany in the late 1800's. |
